The Godwin Obla Foundation has commissioned a modern, fully furnished students’ hostel at Wesley High School, Otukpo. The project, completed in honor of the late Emmanuel Obla, reflects the Foundation’s commitment to advancing education and improving the welfare of students.

The dedication ceremony took place on February 18, 2023, and drew together students, staff, old students, and community leaders. The event was marked by prayers, musical performances, and words of gratitude for the new facility, which will enhance learning and living conditions for the students.
In his welcome remarks, Principal Emmanuel Achigili thanked the Foundation for its generosity and appealed for continued support, particularly in the area of staff welfare. Other speakers, including old students of the school, echoed appreciation while also pledging support for teachers.
At the ceremony, the Foundation also announced additional commitments. These included:
- ₦500,000 for the maintenance of the new Emmanuel Obla Hall
- ₦30,000 each for teachers as immediate appreciation
- An annual prize of a computer for the best-behaved student
- Another computer for the best graduating student
- Plans to renovate the girls’ hostel in honor of the WOSA President, Ene Okwa
The Director General of the Foundation, Elder Michael Ubah Obande, emphasized that these initiatives were part of the Foundation’s broader mission to support education and community development.

The occasion was attended by the Methodist Archbishop of Benue, Most Rev. Joshua Yusuf Ngbede, as well as several notable old students of Wesley High School. The event concluded with heartfelt prayers for the continued success of the Foundation and all those committed to strengthening education in the community.
