The Godwin Obla Foundation has presented St. Francis College, Otukpo, with a brand new set of musical band equipment, bringing joy to students, staff, and alumni of the institution.

At the handover ceremony, the Foundation’s Director General, Elder Michael Ubah Obande, noted that the donation was part of the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to improving facilities at the college. He highlighted other recent interventions, including the renovation and equipping of the science laboratories, the provision of modern toilet facilities, a ₦5 million scholarship fund to support indigent students, and solar lighting across the school premises.

Receiving the instruments on behalf of the school, Principal Rev. Fr. Austin Ochai, himself an alumnus, commended the Foundation’s generosity and urged students to remain thankful. He encouraged them to pray for continued strength and blessings for the Foundation’s Chairman, Chief Godwin Odumu Obla, SAN.

The presentation was witnessed by members of the St. Francis Old Boys Association (home branch), who applauded the Foundation’s efforts in supporting education and community development. Among those present were Ona Ekle (representing Chief Gabriel Onmeje), Hon. Sunday Ikpa, Inalegwu Onah, and Lucky Onum. Vice Principal Simon Ajibo and College Headboy, Master Lawrence Arugu, also expressed appreciation on behalf of staff and students.

The musical band holds a special place in the history of the college, having inspired generations of students. The donation not only restores this tradition but also creates opportunities for current students to grow in music, discipline, and teamwork.

This initiative underscores the Godwin Obla Foundation’s broader mission to invest in education, youth empowerment, and community enrichment.
